With incidents of leopard assaults in Bengaluru in addition to Mysuru being reported lately, Bommai mentioned he has directed the forest division to deploy devoted groups to catch the large cats straying into city areas and human settlements.
”The households of these killed in leopard assaults might be supplied a compensation of Rs 15 lakh. The ex-gratia is just like the one meant for the kin of these killed by wild elephants,” the CM informed reporters.
The state authorities has taken the assaults critically.
He mentioned the forest officers try to seek out the leopard, which killed the 22-year-old lady at Kebbegundi village in T Narasipura Taluk of the Mysuru district.
”We’ve got taken the leopard assaults on human beings critically, particularly in Bengaluru and Mysuru. The forest officers have laid traps for them. I’ve informed them to catch the animals alive and launch them within the forest,” Bommai mentioned.
